Pan Wendt invited me to revisit a 2013 experiment in which I set up a “gallery” space in the woods, an experiment that led to my exhibition, When One Space Meets Another. For the one-night art festival, Art in the Open, I re-installed this “gallery” in Charlottetown’s Victoria Park, delineating the walls with flagging tape. Inside I cleared a path that wandered throughout the room, and at the centre, I set up a station where I wove blankets for trees with flagging tape recycled from When One Space Meets Another. Hundreds of visitors came through Raising Room that night and listened to me talk about my childhood in the woods of Maine and my care for trees and forests.
