The sunlight that curved to meet me
Crocheted yarn, wood, eyehooks
I first installed this work at Red Head Gallery in 2022 as part of the eponymous exhibition, The sunlight that curved to meet me. You can find documentation of the entire exhibition in the Drawing section. I was invited to install the work again at the Owens Art Gallery in 2025 as part of the group exhibition Art = Work.
When I first envisioned this work, I was thinking about walking in the woods and how sunlight seemed to curve around trees to find me and for me to find. In both installations of the work, I “curved” the crocheted strands of color in response to architectural details of the gallery spaces.
