According to the patterns of the flowers on the sheets, I punched holes in the white black-out fabric. When viewers enter the tent they see pinpoints of light that mimic constellation patterns. I made three tents to represent the three aspects of astrological signs: the sun, moon, and rising signs. In this case the tents refer to: Virgo/earth/green; Aries/fire/pink; and Cancer/water/blue. When I found sheets depicting cosmos flowers, I became interested in how the flower pattern, when transferred onto the blackout fabric, could represent how an idea of the cosmos is projected onto patterns seen in the stars.
